Project: Vehicle Restoration Video Series - 1969 International Scout

When we began working with Dupli-Color® in 1999, one of our 1st projects was a complete brand refresh. It was then that the "Yes You Can" messaging began and was later followed up with its extension "Yes You Can - In Your Garage". This messaging really empowered the Do-It-Yourselfers that were actually using their products and established a deep connection with the brand.


Since that time, one of the things we've continued to do with the brand is to provide engaging content that could further demonstrate what DIYers could do with Dupli-Color. In 2013, this content took the form of a project vehicle - one that would truly appeal to our audience.


We had developed a custom set in our Content Studio in 2011 - The Dupli-Color Garage - with the thought that we could continue to develop content over time. So for the 2013 project, we rolled a 1969 International Scout into the Dupli-Color Garage, and, armed with every available product in the line, restored the truck to its former glory. The process was chronicled over 13 episodes, culminating in a live reveal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas inside the Dupli-Color Garage Trade show booth.


Along with the episodal release schedule for the videos, we promoted the project through various Social Media platforms to truly engage our DIYer audience. The engagement was tremendous - so much so, that we were even able to utilize our followers to help us to reveal the finished truck at SEMA along with Nicole Johnson - Monster Jam Driver.
