We balanced a lot of concerns when creating a point-of-sale promotion for Delta Truck Boxes. When creating the concept for the “cut this deal” promotion, where buyers received a free hunting knife with the purchase of a truck box, we had to keep in mind that the display needed to educate and persuade customers to buy. The truck boxes were too large for stores to keep in stock, so the display had to promote the product like packaging normally would. At the same time, we had to create a POS that looked great and was easy to upkeep. With all these requirements in mind, we built a POS display that communicated the 2-for-1 deal in a way that enticed customers to buy, which convinced retailers to buy into the program.
